Celebrate and recognize of volunteers on a regular basis.

Recognition should be ongoing. An immediate thank you can mean more than a certificate at the end.

Acknowledge volunteerism in a personal and honest way.  Sincerity is the key.

Tailor your recognition to the unique needs of the participants involved.

Be sensitive to individual and cultural differences

Give recognition publicly and openly.

Keep an ongoing list of all volunteers for reference

Note any small ways that anyone volunteers.

Try not forget anyone, but don’t forgo recognition for fear of forgetting one or two people. Have a follow up recognition
